What we believe matters

We believe that there is only One God, true, Holy, and Eternal. He exists in Three Persons as Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. The Three are distinguishable, but indivisible. The Three Persons have always existed, and were there in the beginning of time, creating humans in their image.

The Holy Bible is the Absolute Written Truth of God. It is divinely inspired by the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. It is without error, and we accept the 66 books of the established Word of God, the Canon. The Bible originated entirely with God, and was given to the World through chosen men, completely inspired by God. The Bible is the perfect Truth of God, and without flaw or mistake, as written in the original manuscript languages. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and the New Testament was written in Greek. There are many translations available, and Coast Community Church uses various translations as we teach, preach, disciple, and build-up the Church. Our most frequently used translation is the Updated New International Version.

He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He redeems the people from sin, shame, and rebellion against God. He is the Savior. There is no salvation, other than through Him. People are born into sin, ever since the great Fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Jesus came to Earth, was conceived by Holy Spirit, was born of Mary, lived a perfect and sinless life, and shed His blood on the Cross to buy our pardon, if we will only faith in Him. He died, descended into Hell, set the captives free, rose from the dead, appeared to many, and ascended into Heaven, taking His rightful place at the Right Hand of the Father. One day, He will return, and He will be the Judge of the Living and the Dead. No one gets to the Father, but by Him.

Holy Spirit was sent to the World by the Jehovah Yahweh God, and by Jesus. At Salvation, He comes to dwell in the heart, and places the Spirit of our King Jesus within us. Holy Spirit guides into all Truth, speaks only what comes from the Father and from Jesus. He nurtures, chastises, empowers, rebukes, gives insight, gives wisdom, offers grace, and helps us to become holy as God is Holy. He shines the Light on King Jesus, so that we may see our Savior in all of His Power and Glory.

We believe in the necessity of Water Baptism by immersion, after a person surrenders to Jesus, and makes Him Savior. Water Baptism is a powerful sign to the Church, and to Satan himself, that this child of God now belongs to the Kingdom of God. We do not believe in, nor ever practice infant baptism. We uphold Believer’s Baptism.

We believe that this Baptism of Holy Spirit is subsequent to Salvation. Holy Spirit indwells at Salvation, but infills and empowers at Baptism of Holy Spirit. We hold that this Baptism is available to all saved people of God.

We believe in the Spirit-Filled Life. We believe in the manifestation of Gifts by way of Holy Spirit. He gives gifts to the saved people of God so as to advance the Kingdom of God, equip the saved to be mighty ambassadors for the Cause of Jesus, to edify and teach the Church, to offer grace and hope, and to help the Church, the Body of Christ, to mourn when others mourn, rejoice when others rejoice, and function as a Body in unity and harmony to the Glory of the King. Holy Spirit gives various gifts, such as Wisdom, Knowledge, Prophecy, Evangelism, Speaking in Tongues, Interpreting Tongues, Miracle Working, Healings, Teaching, Administration, Exhortation, Discerning of Spirits, Faith, Helps, Discernment, Leadership, Shepherding, Intercession, Preaching, and much more.

The Church is the Body of Christ, the Bride of the Risen King, Jesus. There is only One True Church, and it is comprised of Saved Believers, and are called and chosen by God to be a royal priesthood, and witnesses to the Glory and the Saving Power of Jesus. The Church is God’s chosen entity to bring Light into a world of great darkness, to seek and see the lost saved, to teach the saved how to live holy lives, and to proclaim the Acceptable Year of the Lord. The Church is called to never forsake gathering together for Worship, Teaching, Prayer, Edification, Ministry, Praise, Healing, Repentance, and to receive marching orders as the Mighty Army of the Kingdom of King Jesus.The Body of Christ, the Church, is to grow in grace, rid Herself of all wrinkles, spots, and blemishes, so as to one day, be presented to the Lord of Lords as His perfect Bride.

We believe that Jesus has properly and wonderfully ordered His Church for growth, teaching, preaching, leading, ministry, administration, and the pure Worship of the Sovereign Lord. God has placed Jesus as the Head of the Church. We believe in the Five-Fold Ministry, and that it is active and moving today. We believe that God has put in place, the Ministry of Five very specific leadership roles within the Church. He has given some as Apostles, and some as Prophets, and some as Evangelists, and some as Pastors, and some as Teachers, for the equipping of the Saints for the works of Service, to build up the Body of Christ in unity, truth, understanding, grace, love, hope, and holiness.

We believe, further, that the Lord has given Elders to protect the Vision of theChurch, and to provide consistency, spiritual words, insight, words of encouragement, words of caution, and prayers for direction and holiness.

The Lord as also given Deacons to the Church, as great ambassadors of the vision of the Church, as lead workers in the ministry of all believers, providing stability, steadfastness, endurance, and administration. Many other spiritual gifts have been given to the Body of Jesus, and all saved people need to embrace the fact that they are ministers with high callings, so as to bring a very lost world into the loving, saving, and graceful embrace of God the Father, of the King of Kings, and of Holy Spirit.

We believe that Satan is the Fallen Angel who rebelled against God Almighty. He is real, is a liar, is the Father of lies, and desires to keep people from knowing Jesus as Savior, and to keep those who are saved very ineffective and oppressed. He is a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, even though he masquerades as an angel of light. He is The Enemy from Hell.

Physical death seals human destiny. We believe that there is resurrection from the dead and life everlasting for the Saved, yet damnation, darkness, and absolute separation from God the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit for all of Eternity, for those who have rejected the Authority of God and Salvation through the Blood of Jesus.
